Catching a Train at CDG
The primary airport of France, Charles de Gaulle (CDG), is truly a spaghetti-like sprawling thing. Rambling across nine terminals (Terminal 2 is really seven terminals, 2A through 2G), finding your way from plane to train is a test of patience after a long flight and in a country where English is not the primary language. We’ll walk you through how to simplify finding your way with step-by-step directions
Which trains are accessible in CDG?
Both Paris Regional (RER) and long-distance trains (SNCF) are accessible in CDG:
The Paris Regional RER Line B has two stations in CDG: Terminal 2 (Aéroport Ch. de Gaulle 1) and Terminal 3 (Aéroport Ch. de Gaulle 2).
The Paris regional train (RER) Line B stops in Paris at the “Zone 1” stations — identified above — with the Chatelet-Les Halles station being the most central in Paris, close to the Louvre, Hotel de Ville, and the Seine.
In addition, there are long-distance trains (SNCF) trains that provide fast travel to destinations within France and across Europe.
Where are the train stations in CDG?
Terminal 2. The RER and SNCF train stations are at the lowest level (Level 1) between Terminals 2C, 2D, 2E, and 2F. Terminal 2 is pretty large, and depending on where you are, the signage may be RER, SNCF, or TGV — all go to the same area within Terminal 2.
Terminal 3. The RER train station is just outside the baggage claim area. Terminal 3 is pretty small, and the train station is easy to find.
TFE Insider Tip: The SNCF trains are only available at Terminal 2.
